Björk | Greatest Hits

O álbum escolhido para a banda sonora deste fim-de-semana, que marca o meio das duas semanas de férias que tirei, é o best of da apaixonante artista islandesa Björk. Claro que faltam aqui muitas das músicas mais interessantes da cantora, mas penso que as 15 faixas foram bem escolhidas. Toda a informação aqui.

"I think, like with everything, there are a lot of bad 'Greatest Hits' albums and there are a lot of good ones. Just like with everything, the percentage is: some are 10% good and 90 % are rubbish. Although I still think it's worth the risk to at least try."

Sugiro uma visita, mais que obrigatória, ao site oficial de Björk. Considero que seja a página deste género mais perfeitamente elaborada que visualizei até hoje. Esteticamente de grande beleza, com uma navegação bastante simples e com toda a informação sobre a artista, mas mesmo toda! Um reflexo da própria pessoa, como todas deveriam ser.

"The reason I do photographs is to help people understand my music, so it's very important that I am the same, emotionally, in the photographs as in the music. Most people's eyes are much better developed than their ears. If they see a certain emotion in the photograph, then they'll understand the music."

Completo este post sobre uma das minhas cantoras favoritas com uma das músicas seleccionadas este álbum. A escolha foi muito complicada e consegui resistir à tentação de colocar a minha preferida, "Pagan Poetry". Hyperballad | Björk

"Basically, 'Hyper-ballad' is about having this kind of bag going on and three years have passed and you're not high anymore. You have to make an effort consciously and nature's not helping you anymore. So you wake up early in the morning and you sneak outside and you do something horrible and destructive, break whatever you can find, watch a horrible film, read a bit of William Burroughs, something really gross and come home and be like, 'Hi honey, how are you?'."

Para terminar deixo-vos algumas questões: conhecem o projecto "Drawing Restraint 9"? Sabiam que a cantora islandesa vai juntar-se à sua antiga banda, os "The Sugarcubes", para um concerto no próximo dia 17 de Novembro, em Reykjavik? A banda não actua há já 14 anos! E para quando um concerto de Björk em solo português?...
